על היצירה : "חלקי הגוף המעוצב בגבס של בל שפיר, 'רקמת התודעה', ניתקים מבובות המניקין שעליהן היא מושחת את הגבס הלח ומתקלפים

כשהם יבשים. הם מותירים אחריהם עדויות לגוף ששכן שם קודם. עשרות חלקים של איברי גבס מתפוררים בעוד אחרים מתחזקים ומעצימים את הגוף עצמו. חלקי הגבס הלבנים והטהורים נפצעים, ומשאירים עדות לפצעי הגוף שנפרד מהם. המכלול כולו הוא סמל לריפוי ולשיקום, הנובע משבירה לרסיסים."

"The Fabric of Consciousness" - "Fragility" Exhibition

Belle is presenting at the "Fragility" exhibition, which will open on June 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Dina Recanati Gallery located in the Forum Building, 1 David Hamelech st. Herzliya Forum building, Ground floor, Herzliya, Israel. She will be showcasing her work "The Fabric of Consciousness."

About the work:

The plaster body parts shaped by Belle Shafir, 'The Fabric of Consciousness,' detach from the mannequins on which she applies the wet plaster and peel off once they dry. They leave behind evidence of the body that previously resided there. Dozens of pieces of plaster limbs crumble while others strengthen and enhance the body itself. The white and pure plaster parts get wounded, leaving evidence of the body's injuries that separated from them. The entire ensemble is a symbol of healing and restoration, arising from breaking into fragments.
